In its on-going quest to provide guests with World Class African hospitality, Premier Hotels & Resorts has appointed Deneys Swart as the company’s new Group Operations Manager of Resorts and named Bruce McKay as its new Group Food & Beverage Manager.
Swart’s 35-year career in the hospitality industry has seen him in managerial roles at several illustrious hotel chains around the country. With prowess in areas such as industrial relations, team building and service excellence, it is unsurprising that he was headhunted twice, including by one of Kenya’s leading hospitality groups. Before joining Premier, the husband and father of three was a self-employed business consultant on various projects, amongst which was lodge development. One of Swart’s proudest achievements was serving as School Governing Body Chairman of the Alma School for intellectually and physically challenged children.
A multi-award winning hotel manager, executive chef, food columnist and hotel school proprietor, McKay brings close to 30 years of experience to his new role. In addition to working for various large hotel groups, he has owned and operated a hotel, school as well as a number of restaurants. Highly respected within the hospitality industry, McKay holds numerous portfolios and memberships with prominent hospitality associations, like the esteemed Academy of Chefs, South African Chefs Association, Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa and Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. He is also the Vice President of 41 Club International and founder of the Let’s Hear Foundation which offers support and information to hearing impaired individuals.
